Basic language localization is done automatically by the FirstClass web server based on the language settings in the web browser Accept_Language HTTP header. The FirstClass web server provides mechanisms for localization and customization.FirstClass Web Services also supports WebSocket and/or AJAX connections to facilitate live web client updates with changes that occurred on the FirstClass server (new mail notifications, calendar alarm reminders, container content changes, and so on). ![]() The FirstClass server responses are also encapsulated in the FCP protocol, which is then processed by FirstClass Web Services and subsequently sent back to the web client as HTML pages, JSON data, CSS style data and/or JavaScript code. Requests issued to the FirstClass web server are translated into the FirstClass-proprietary protocol FCP and sent to the FirstClass server for processing. A Web Client uses HTML 5.0 to communicate with FirstClass Web services.Out of the box, FCWS renders the new HMTL 5 FirstClass Web Client and new FirstClass Web API. The FCWS design is based upon a Python framework, and facilitates access to FirstClass server data and functionality. FirstClass 12 introduces the high performance FirstClass Web Services server (FCWS).The important thing to note here for this release is that if this option is set to 'off' no users with in that group will have access to their mailbox and other personal containers. Turning this checkbox off on a group allows you to restrict that user group to having a logon without exposing any of the personal information based containers. A "Personal Information Management (PIM)" option has been implemented at the group level. As such a new audit diagnostic will report all PIM-less users who are missing a forwarding email address, this will show up in the nightly audit message sent to the Admin. PIM-less accounts are required to have an external forwarding address set in their preferences. They user class is intended for users who wish to avail of the strong collaborative and communication features of FirstClass12 and FCWS, but already have their email based in another service. PIM-less users are a new type of users and restricted from seeing any of the personal information based containers such as the mailbox, contacts and others. This option is intended for use with the FirstClass Web Services interface only. ![]()
